Drummer MIchel Lambert; Saxophonist Kelly Jefferson and bassist Frédéric Alarie chose Austria to produce a cd recorded in July 1998. Seven pieces are presented. Miles Davis "So What" reinvented two of Wayne Shorter "Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum" and "Juju"; Sting's "walking on the moon", one from Police musician Stuart Copeland "Contact", "Les voleurs d'ame" from Michel Lambert, and "Turbulence" from Alarie.
Where the jazz is going off the path, Alarie takes pleasure to clear the way. And this "Viennoise" is delighful. (Claude Cote, Voir) |
