Katjar is an electric voyage of rythms where contemporary jazz blends with the warm melodic moods of the Middle East, along with flamenco flavours on guitar and the skins of African congas. The group blends acoustic nylon guitar, percussion, electric violin and vocals that weave together seamlessly in a sonic tapestry of world music and jazz of the highest brow imaginable. Djembe, Dumbek, congas and drums are the heart of Katjar while virtuosic violin improvisation dances with male and female vocals above the intricacies of warm acoustic jazz guitar. The overall effect is a mesmerizing execution of impeccably crafted original compositions worthy of the grandest halls, Each piece reveals a particular musical colour which subtly seduces the listener, whereby with each musical crescendo the listener embarks on a journey which opens the path to the universe known as Katjar.
